I currently do teach Beginning Glass Beadmaking,fusing and Slumping and stained glass classes. I can teach group classes or one on one classes.
Beadmaking Classes are $90, and that will be for a Saturday or Sunday from 10am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch.
There will be 6 hours of class time and students will each have their own torch for the whole 6 hours. I will provide all the equipment and materials for the classes.
To be covered in class:
- Safety procedures
- What all the equipment is and its name and how to use it, also annealing will be explained although fiber blankets will be used in class.
- How to make a basic bead
- How to shape beads
- How to make stringer and how to use stringer to:
- Make dots
- 'Draw' on bead
- How to make and use frit
- What is Millifiori and how to incorporate it into a bead.
- Basic instruction on how to incorporate dichroic glass into a bead (I will provide a piece of dichroic to each student)
The fusing and Slumping and stained glass class format, length and cost would depend on what the student is looking to learn. Such as are you interested in making fused jewelry or art glass piecs or in a small stained glass suncatcher or a large window piece?
